So, Christmas party at Val's. Well, it was technically a party - we mostly just sat around watching That Seventies Show. There was a marathon XP

Avi being grounded, I arranged to meet Stan at KFC at six. Thanks to my dad forcibly giving me a lift, I got there early. He was forty minutes late. This always happens to me. I sat behind CRABSHACK and read Shadows Fall, which if you're wondering is an incredbly badly written book about really interesting things. And then it turned out Val's house was literally across the road from where I'd been sitting.

I caught up with Amy, who fell in love with Val's cat, and Dalit, who apparantly used to do art lessons with me and Liza but I don't remember. She's also Sasha's cousin, Val's stepsister, and knows many old Mount Sinai people. This is the Russian/Jewish community. We prefer to think of strangers as people we didn't know we knew.

We had a slight dilemma with regards to sustenance when it became apparant that Val and Dalit's parents had left nothing in the kitchen when they left on holiday except for three pizzas, two of each were eaten within several hours of their leaving. Also, it was Christmas Eve, so guess who was open for business? Grand total of nobody. We rang around, became intimately acquainted with the call waiting music at telstra's Directory thing, and eventually found a Thai place nearby, to which we walked, although Sasha wanted to ride a bike. Me, Liza, Amy and Dalit of course had a huge gossip session. Sasha, Val and Stan walked behind us discussing, you know, boy things.

The Thai place was good, although Sasha made fun of me for putting salt on my rice, and towards the end the staff were giving us very pointed looks suggesting that no, there was no hurry, but if we were quite finished, maybe we could possibly move just a little distance towards the door just slightly plzkthnx. Stan eventually gave up on his chopsticks, poor fellow, and Liza was teased for being on a diet... or not being on a diet... one or the other.

Then we went back to Val's and had ice-cream and tormented the cat, which really is incredibly soft and cute and triangular. Triangular like Slow and Johnny, as Liza named Val's triangular fish. My icecream melted, and ate my spoon.

When I got home my parents gave me my Chrismukkahnewyear present - the Firefly DVD! ^_^ Yes I now have Firefly that can be watched somewhere other than crappy realplayer on a tiny computer screen. Therefore I want to organise a Firefly marathon, probably a sleepover since clearly there is a lot of Firefly. Who's up for it?

PS: OMG. Offensive Snowflakes.

Firefly is a TV series. I now have it on DVD. Fourteen episodes. A marathon would consist of watching it.

Er, misread your question. There shall be a marathon because it is very awesome and I want to spread the love. Also I know at least two people who wanted to see it and have not. So, yes.

" This is the Russian/Jewish community. We prefer to think of strangers as people we didn't know we knew. "

LOL. I love this.

This quote should be put up over the entrance to the Black Sea or Odessa On Bondi or Romance or whatever other establishment will go out of business only to return a week later with borderline health regulation compliant food and tackier music. Failing that, there should atleast be a giant banner over the roads leading into the eastern suburbs...

I am up for a marathon (as long as it's before the 9th or after the 20th of January).

That's certainly the Jewish community anyway. Haha.
