Alex's Birthday

bliumchikIt was SO nice to wake up at ten and stay in bed reading till eleven today. It was not so nice to plan a quiet, peaceful, leisurely breakfast only to have my mother refuse to shut up. Then I got an sms from Alex, which I would actually have the night before had I actually bothered to check my phone. It turned out her BBQ style thing was on at one, so, at one I showed up.
I should have known better. The only person there was Toly. We wandered around the park for a bit, whereupon Lex's parents showed up. Strangely devoid of Alex. Hokay, so we helped carry bags and things, and set things out - Mik's mum, who also was there without Mik, showed me how to wash lettuce - and then Dan and Greg appear. These are the people whom I do not really know, and therefore awkward moment ensued, and I went to read my book until Avi showed up.
Everyone eventually did get there, except Liza who had horse-riding and came at half past three. Olivie, chicken and vodka happened. So did a skateboard. It was extremely amusing to watch Toly fall off it multiple times. To be fair, he was the only one actually out there trying. The rest of us preferred to just stand there making fun of the skaterkiddies and Jess's sex life, hence:
Jess: Blablah something my kids something blah.
Everyone: Your kids? *snicker* *tease*
Aryeh: You're pregnant?! Stan, is there something you've not told us?
Stan: Hey, I'm staying out of it.
Me: If you'd stayed out of it in the first place, we wouldn't be having this problem!
Later, we played volleyball. It's odd how I forget how to play things when not playing them for ages, and then when I do, I suddenly remember towards the end of the game.

I went to Belle Vue Hill primary and pretended mice lived in the trees with a bossy little boy called Jake.
5 Years Ago:
I spent most of my time reading and trying to ignore my desperate lack of social skillz.
1 Year Ago:
I was still absolutely amazed that I had friends, and also decided I love being the weird one.
Yesterday:
I wondered if anyone does cheap uterus extractions.
Tomorrow:
Work, which sucks. I think I'm getting my shifts forcibly reduced due to short notice on illness. FLU DOESN'T PHONE YOU UP TWO WEEKS IN ADVANCE, PEOPLE!
5 Snacks:
Walnuts, bread, the souls of innocents, toffee apples, pencil shavings.
5 Bands/Artists:
Breaking Benjamin, Slipknot, Placebo, A Perfect Circle, Thrice
I'm not doing the other questions because they suck.
