bliumchik: THIS IS NOT SPARTA. I AM LOST. (splode?)

I can't find any pair socks! I have some that came in a set of six so they are identical except for colour maybe I can wear them odd? Who am I kidding of course I can :P

I have this nagging feeling there is something I have forgotten to pack. I probably won't figure out what it is till we're halfway there. Instead of checking things I have been spamming the hell out of the mountain-goats.com forums. No actual spam included. Also the shocking truth about peacocks.

Also also, via mightygodking, NSFW lulz.

Also also also, I am reading Rise and Fall of the Shi'ar Empire ("hey, my library has a random x-men trade. yeah okay gimme that.") and, I did not know the original X-Men had so many brothers and sisters, forreal. I guess Jean Grey is dead during this story, but which death was it? It must have been an early one because they mention that Scott is being a bitchface about it (...in those exact words) and by number six or so you'd think he would be like "Meh. She'll be back. Revolving door policy."

In fact when I get around to drawing things again I want to do a picture of some evil dude gloating over her corpse while she covertly opens one eye and is all like "I am thinking the meaning of the word Phoenix is not quite getting through to you there buddy" for the lulz. (It goes on the list after HAMSTAR BATMAN... oh man, I don't even know where my drawing pad ended up, I haven't seen it in years. I should take it with me since I won't have any internet to distract me. But it's one in the morning and we leave at nine tomorrow and I don't know where it iiis! And I'm on livejournaaaal!)

*kermitflails*

(one last also: Amanda Palmer remains my idol. ((From the blog: "i just wanted to make out with her. ok, and maybe tie her up with gaffer tape.")) And new song!)

During Rise and Fall I believe it's Jean's latest death, the Magneto-stroke fatality. (It has Vulcan, yes? If so, then definitely Magneto-stroke death.) I know I've let my X-cred slip through the years, but she's had two big deaths (Blue Area of the Moon, Magneto's Manhattan magnetic massage) and a few thought-deads in the interim (particularly when she and Beast get separated from the gang escaping from Antarctica).

My dad got attacked by a peacock -- twice, actually. First time (many years ago) as he tells it the only thing that saved its life was the fact that he couldn't see through the blood to get a gun and decided to drive himself to the ER after the peacock went tapdancing on his head. (Peacock was later donated to local zoo.) Second time -- about a year ago -- similar attack, but the big guy was able to chuck the shiny little monster off and, I guess out of reflex, grabbed a rake and just whipped it around and smack, end of peacock.

And I am intrigued by HAMSTAR BATMAN. Worried, but intrigued. Your ideas frighten and enlighten me.

Yup, Vulcan. So I guess it's more a case of "man, Scott sure gets grumpy whenever Jean is dead, huh."

(RE HAMSTAR BATMAN: MOOO-HAHAHAHAHA.)

Thank goodness we can trust Corporations to Do The Right Thing with our cultural capital...

I started reading at the start. I stopped reading sometime around the Brood stuff, as the writing had gone to crap. I think Claremont had been prised from the book then, can't remember.
