Today I ate a lot, dressed up as a pixelated computer game character and got a needle stuck in me for no good reason.

Tomorrow I graduate high school.

In celebration, I just bought the first volume of The Authority, which is made of exactly the kind of awesome that I expect from Warren Ellis after reading Transmetropolitan (several times).

firefly_lims is starting up again, which is shiny - I haven't made an icon in ages. Although several scenes from Authority are tempting me. Apollo and Midnighter are absolutely adorable.

Murgh, my elbow's all swollen up. Stupid red cross nurses. It's not like my veins are hard to FIND, for god's sake, my skin is like paper. Because of my low blood iron they had to do a test before they could take any blood, and they don't like to stick the same arm twice so after she fucked up one arm there was no point anyway. I clearly don't have enough arms.

Aww, congrats. The graduation-thing, not the stabby-arms thing. I'm thinking some nurses just have a sadistic streak.

Loved Ellis's Authority. Hated Millar's Authority; in just eight issues, he managed to prove that he just didn't get it (then again, trying to top Ellis playing widescreen superheroics is just madness). There has been some readable post-Ellis post-Millar Authority, but not enough for me to recommend it. The second trade manages to finish Ellis's run but doesn't feature Millar hitting his full stride of suck yet (and, honestly, Frank Quietly on art doesn't help at all)....

I know, I've been reading scans_daily. Some of the artists, dude. Especially Quietly and whoever did the issue where they got knocked out of bed to fight supervillains and Midnighter (in basically a Bat-cape and underwear) turns out to have a nipple ring.

I mean, that could have been so very awesome. But no. ;_;
