Brechtian punk cabaret. Huh. Wow. Why did it take me this long to realise that the Dresden Dolls are made of awesome? I just got linked to a youtube vid of their war pigs cover and looked them up and went "guh."

And quite apart from the music, I can't decide which of them is hotter. Hmm, lets see: brian - plus hat, minus shirt, percusses the living hell out of those drums. amanda - rockin it, awesome socks, omfg that voice. IT'S A DEADLOCK PEOPLE.

Apparently not. My musical education is sadly as patchy as my movie-watching habits. Reminds me, I really should get around to watching Priscilla and The Matrix...

Hee! The Dolls are friends-of-friends of mine -- my downstairs neighbor used to do some of their publicity, and one of my friends from college helped get them their early radio play on college radio.

They were the headliners at a little concert some of the high schoolers in my town put on as a fundraiser for the school, and they played a free midnight concert at a science fiction convention I was at.

It always amazes me that they are getting big -- but they SO deserve it.
