Well, that's one trial exam over and done with. Or at least, half done, as I believe there's also a written exam for Drama, which suffers from syllabus regulations that insist we get tested on a specific proportion of practice and theory. There are two theory topics and two practical tasks, but unfortunately each practical task has its logbook marked, usually for equal value of the performance itself, so we end up doing an illion tasks worth about 5% of our final mark each. And we have to do it all over again for the HSC.

Yesterday's tasks were a group performance and an individual project, also performance for all but two of us. Honestly I probably should have done a written one, it would have been much easier to knock up the weekend before :P and I dread the marks I probably got, but I suppose given that I was still calling for prompts four hours before the performance and I only needed one on the night, it's relatively okay.

My parents showed up and were embarrassing as always - they brought the grandparents but thankfully not the little brother, but they were still loud and slavically perplexed, and my mum kept tugging on me during interval and going "which one is X? I was talking to her mother... what's her last name again? What? Speak up! Oh I see... which one is Y?"

Our group performance was awesome, if a bit chaotic at the start (something to work on). My dad got it on camera, so I'll post it as soon as uh, I can figure out how... It's good to see yourself on video sometimes - I mean I knew the beginning was incoherent, and I knew I had terrible posture, but there's nothing quite like seeing it with your own eyes. (also, Chloe: I know you told me to maximise the Hasselhoff Thrust but I don't know if that was quite... er... well, you'll see.) The video also confirms that my hair is in fact the Beast Of Deth and managed to escape about twenty bobby pins in order to stick out like a deranged anemone.

I took the day off school today, citing Extreme Mental Exhaustion Stress Collapse of OVER NINE THOUSAAAND!!! Which proved to be justified as I managed to conk out until two in the afternoon and I'm still woozy. I think I managed to cut off circulation to my legs for most of the day by wearing my jeans over my tights (and perusal of the video suggests that yes, group members, you are correct in advising me to get loose track pants for the HSC).

My brain also did that weird thing where it postpones the panic attack until after the emergency has passed, so it saved up the stress from frantically memorising my piece on the weekend and threw it all at me in response to my mother being embarrassing over biscuits at interval. At that point I went off and decided to try the dodgy Herbal Flower Stress Remedy!!! Thing that she'd given me and I had forgotten about. I figured I could do with a placebo even if it was as dodgy as it looked. Unfortunately the plastic wrap clinging to the bottle lid with dogged perseverance proved to be beyond me in my adrenaline-filled state, and attempts to get it off only resulted in me breaking the bottle. On the bright side, that got Herbal Remedy!!! onto my hands, and it would have been a waste to just wipe it off after all that effort. On the uh, less-bright side, it tasted pretty much like shitty alcohol, and a closer inspection of the ingredients revealed that it did, in fact, consist mostly of alcohol. Forget placebo, they're just trying to get us drunk! Not that that's a bad idea, but they should just call it Emergency Medicinal Liquor For Emergencies and have done with it. Hell, I'd buy that!

Nah you look awesome and flouncy ^^ it suits you. I wouldn't put bets on Anne Frank given subject matter and the effort you put into the frumpiness, but then my dad didn't film that :P

Although you're probably right about the opening. Which means I really need to show you and Zoe at least so we can see what needs changing from an audience point of view.
