bliumchik: THIS IS NOT SPARTA. I AM LOST. (splode?)

A few days ago I changed the strings on my guitar for the first time because one had started to unravel. Just the top three, the others still work fine, and it's pretty funny to see the difference between the old ones and the new ones at the top where my winding-wires-around-bits-of-plastic skillz have proved inferior. I hadn't realised quite how slack the old strings had gotten until I tried to strum the new ones and then had to sit on my fingers for a few minutes. On the plus side, who needs a nail file? At least having to break them in is making me practice more often. I'll have to keep retuning it for a few weeks until they settle in.

The final verdict has come down on my old hard drive - it's dead as a doornail. Thankfully I got the most vital stuff (ie my writing and photoshop files, not to mention an entire image folder that I could never be bothered re-downloading) off it as soon as it crashed, and onto my dad's computer so I could access it until mine was fixed. But it's now become apparent that it's not going to be fixed, which means that barring a few hundred dollars worth of data-recovery (I was seriously trying to figure out whether there was any, er, compromising material on the disk until my dad mentioned the price tag) I'm going to have to re-download every program, skin and firefox extension I've ever used. I don't even remember what half of them were. Bitchcakes.

Finally, I leave you with a freaky-ass picture of a racoon from Neil Gaiman's journal. Just because.
