I feel better. Huh. Maybe it wasn't entirely the sudden temperature drop (although it is freezing as all fuck wtf land of sun and surf ;_;), it's just the way my poor study skills are catching up to me (waving leetle flags of shitshityou'resoscrewed). My inability to do anything useful with my free time is frankly depressing.

But, tea and pirates and the Chaser help. So does Supernatural (obtaining the latest episode tonight, with luck).

Speaking of which, who wants to beta a slightly cracky SPN ficlet? It's got smug!dean and spluttery!sam and the Flaming Avenger. I mostly need an SPN fangirl to check my characterisation (and maybe suggest an ending... I've wrapped up what needed to actually happen but i can't figure out how to round it off) although I'm not sure if any read my lj as they never comment. However if any grammar nazi I know *cough*you know who you are*cough* feels like practicing their skills, you're free to have a sneak preview.

Is that 'same here' for 'shit, I also forgot to watch Chaser', or 'I'm also interested in beta'ring for you'? :)

So true, and the carbon emiisson cap in this bill will come nowhere near being effective in keeping us from going over 450 PPM in time. We are already at 390. This is why for the life of me I cannot understand why the voices of these groups aren't louder on this. As it is, industry has now been trying to make a deal whereby if any cap is passed they get a pass on mercury pollution. See, this is what you get when you expect government to do this for you. Why can't the millions spent by environmental organizations lobbying Congress be pooled together to actually go around all this political impasse in buying solar arrays and start putting them up! Why can't we as citizens invest in solar farms through organizations like this directly? Just how much longer are we going to wait for them to do the moral thing? We are running out of time to continue these petitions calls and business as usual lobbying. Oil and coal emiissons are killing us and hurtling this planet towards irrevocable consequences. Does that not deserve a bit more in the way of noise? Please let me know when this group gets to that point, because I would be more than eager to join you. I just can't see continuing to call these people when I have been writing letters, signing petitions, and calling calling calling calling for the last twenty plus years! we have gone into a new phase regarding climate change in this year, and we can no longer afford to wait for politicians to decide when it is urgent for them to act without them feeling any political fallout from it.
