cadhlas journal in which case this is sort of pointless, but I may be wrong. Anyway, I found the story I couldn't remember the name of, and it's Death And Suffrage by Dale bailey. It was in an old issue of F&SF magazine, of which I have three copies from a library shit-we-don't-want sale. The story still makes me shiver.
anyway here's that sketch. I was just practicing hands and put in some filler, which amused me, so just uh... pretend some school somewhere has desks that huge and wonky (not to mention benches).

I should have gone further and looped it all the way round, but it's been done (by M. C. Escher no less) so you know, whatever.
