My parents dragged me out for walkies with my brother this afternoon. Maroubra beach. By the time we got out it was like 5, and my parents were all like omg it's gonna rain. But then we were like meh, so anyway. We got to the beach and they propmtly put me on babywatch and went for a walk. This was not difficult as Timmy was scared to walk in the sand so he just sorta sat there and played with his plastic fish. Then my parents came back for us and they held Timmy's hands as I wandered along taking photos of the sky (will be up on devart shortly), cos it was pretty n stuff. Clouds are cool.
Anyway, after a while I wandered back, leaving them to play at the rock pool, and just as I got to our stuff, I felt a drop of water upon my cheek. Yep, there's that storm they predicted. The wind immediately picked up to what felt like gale force, and our rapidly migrating neighbors were treated to the sight of a madwoman in a sarong standing on a hat while wrestling with a tarp and muttering expletives and things along the lines of "burya, they said, oh yeah, but did they pack a freaking umbrella? I think not!". Then my parents got back just as the first onslaught of tumbleweed appeared out of nowhere. I swear, it was like a science fiction movie, all these little spikey things flying across the sand towards me. I tried to film them, but by the time i got the camera out the large herds had all passed by. I did get some stationary ones, though - http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/12697315/
And now I've spent 20 mins trying to organise people to go somewhere, to no avail. Dammit.
