Art: M'mselle De La Escher

Coloured a sketch yesterday. It's up at Deviantart, but in the interests of consistency I'm putting it up here, too.



Technical: Sketched on paper, coloured in photoshop. I used a slihgtly different technique this time, consisting mostly of a soft airbrush and the smudge tool. Brush used in the background is by RxYaNgL, I can't remember if she's on deviantart or livejournal. I'm not entirely happy with the proportions, but then I rarely am, either cos I'm shit at them or cos I'm a closet perfectionist.

Creative: Began as practice at camp, sketching Diana from behind. I got distracted at her ear, because I can't draw those, so from then on it was an elf. I just improvised the hair, and upon later examination the style turned out to actually be physically impossible, hence the title of the piece. Look at it closely... WHERE DOES IT GO!?

In an alternate universe where Escher gets kicked out of university for a bizarre prank involving two flights of stairs, an ostrich and a moebius strip...
