Art Redux!
Jan. 6th, 2007 10:07 pmI haven't posted a picture in a long, LONG while. So here's a bunch of sketches that may or may not get coloured and whatnot. They're more or less in order from oldest to newest. Click thumbnails to actually see them, *sigh* the search for a really convenient filehost continues!

A character. Will be coloured, because the outfit is otherwise utterly incomprehensible. It's multiple layers of gauze over a scanty leotard that ribbons round the legs.

I drew this way back when we were studying the French Revolution in Modern History. I'm going to colour this, too, and the sketchy faces in the background will just be one of those crowd-blurs.

Done on camp. Started as a sketch of Diana's face from behind her, I think. I'm rather proud of the eyelashes, but the proportions are all wrong. Look closely at the hair though... I just sort of drew it naturally, and later spent some time trying to figure out WHERE THE HELL IT GOES. It's like a mobius strip of hair!

Self portrait. Does not look like me, otherwise ok. Apart from the hands, er...
As you can see, I need a few lessons in anatomy. I'm getting quite good at legs (see Monsieur Le Revolutionary's calves) but hands only work in certain poses, and don't even ASK me about wrists. Or ears (elves are an easy way out). Le sigh. Anyone seen a good tutorial floating round the web?

Date: 2007-01-07 09:01 am (UTC)lol god, I used to draw... And then I sort of stopped.
Anyways, play around with shading a little more, and use the sausage method before defining your lines. A little knowledge of anatomy and muscle can't go amiss either. Very cute though, even if one is a tad morbid.
