I've finished one exchange fic! Hurrah! Now I have a week for the other! Although given that [livejournal.com profile] swashbucklathon keeps extending it's deadline they'll probably just end up saying "Okay guys, if you made it in time, you win. Everyone else - just post your fic before we start the next round, okay? Jeez."

Oh! And I got my gift on [livejournal.com profile] go_exchange! It's awesome! It's called [livejournal.com profile] themtheband (keep clicking next to see the rest). And it just goes to show I'm not very involved in the fandom because otherwise I'd have figured out who it is by now... I mean, there can't be THAT many web designers, least of all of that quality, just sort of... hanging around, yeah?

If I'd gotten in earlier with my fic, I could've at least used process of elimination based on my theory that the mods try to post gifts for people who've completed their assignments first. Ah well, we shall have to wait and see...

Really? Huh. Occam's razor eliminated the idea that you pair up unreliable people... so why is it that both this time and last time, when I was late, my gift wasn't posted until near the end? Coincidence - I think not. XP

Although it would really have to be three times to call it enemy action, so I'll have to wait till this time next year to confirm... *nosetap*

Also: I don't remember the sitch last year, but this year I do know your gift got posted later because...your giver was also late. That's very possibly what happened last year too.

(We do forgive people who come up with stuff late, as long as it's really, really good. The later in the month it is, the higher our standards.)

Our choices are thematic, random and vaguely inspired by kismet. Whether the recipient has turned in a gift or not is pretty much irrelevant. (It has to be - if we relied on posting gifts only for people who'd actually met the deadline, we would be FUCKED by the end of the first week.)

If you want to know who the deadbeats are, all you have to do is wait til the end, make a list of who got gifts and who contributed gifts, and note the discrepancies. There will be many. (And we will be changing rules about this for next year, oh yes.)

Dang. That's another conspiracy theory down. I fear for my crop circles.
