Nov. 28th, 2006 01:19 pmMy cat chased off an invader last night... I think. It may have been a complex mating dance, despite my cat's desexed status. I came outside in time to see my black cat, Toma, and a white and brown tortoiseshell crouching on the fence, glaring at each other with tails in Cat Fu Stance One. It all looked very menacing... Then Toma opened her mouth.
I'm not sure if her yowl of menace is supposed to be quite so similar to her yowl of "foodz now plzkthnx" - a sort of high-pitched whine. But it seemed to work, the tresspasser backed along the fence until it reached a corner, whereupon it jumped down onto the neighbor's fence, leaving only its tail showing over ours like a white flag. Toma pursued until she was nearly derailed by a tree.
It's good to know our backyard is secure...
A snippet that basically sums up my relationship with my mother.
Me: What part of "no, I don't want to go," do you not understand?
Mum: ...eh?
I may not have mentioned my singing teacher, Nicky, and her semibiannual student concerts. I certainly haven't mentioned it recently, but we had one last wednesday. There were only about ten items because several people had dropped out with flu or nerves, but the quality was good. The Phantom Of The Opera made me want to actually see the phantom of the opera. I sang one of my own songs, and it got a generally nice reaction - I will post a video as soon as I finish reading the manual for my dad's camera, because feedback is good and it was a small concert. My dad, typically, got a digital camera and just sort of figured out how to use it instead of reading the manual. Unfortunately he came late and missed phantom of the opera! But I probably won't post the whole concert anyway since I don't have permission from the other singers.
