bliumchik: (ya gotta laugh)

I hate it when LJ eats my entries! I don't WANT to type all that up again! It was just rambling, and I'm not thinking the same things now. Dammit.

I had been going to make an iconpost, but picsplace hates me, so I was going to do news, but my mum ndistracted me and I pressed the wrong button... fine, have some news anyway.

1. I got accepted into State Drama Camp! Which is pretty cool. I shall meet Newtown drama queens and do cool things. I had a long spiel about how it was expensive but not quite such a big damn ripoff as School camp this year, which basically gives us one full day there which does not contain travelling to and from, costs almost $200 and is supposed to be about "study skills". LOL. Study skills. Vazza gave a big speech about us using the time to get closer to people, and some guy's model and how our interpersonal relationships were crucial to our success in life. Whoo! Big slap in the face to the antisocial people! Also, this would be much funnier if we went to a co-ed school.

2. SENIOR PRODUCTION LALALA pixies. Zoe and I spent the morning in a frenzy of costume labelling - I got there first after Chloe, so I took her into the back room to try things on. I have conclusive proof that some deity or other approves of our production, by the way, as shown by miraculous appearance of an extroardinarily convenient and entirely inexplicable stretchy purple dress in my wardrobe a few weeks ago. It's miraculous, or at least a case of spontaneous generation, because I certainly didn't buy the thing, and I'm sure my parents... would have... said something? Anyway, it's cause for celebration and, I don't know, lamb-burning or something, because it fits Chloe perfectly, unlike most of the dresses in the back room which appear to have been designed for pixies. I mean, one of them (and it's a real pity because it's so pretty), at least six people tried on with zero success - eventually Zoe herself said "ALRIGHT. GIVE ME THAT." and struggled into it, only to find it doesn't zip up. And got stuck across her shoulders when she was trying to get OUT of the bloody thing. Another which we just got onto Poppy looked quite nice but was unfortunately reported as constricting, which is never a good thing unless we want VERY VERY REALISTIC stage-fainting. Honestly, who donated these dresses? Year sevens?

Anyway, when Zoe arrived we started going through scenes and labelling things (Zoe was very posessive of her Labelling Rights) and pulling people aside for conferences until the back room eventually contained most of the class. They couldn't do scenes because Maintenance Dude was drilling holes in the set. Zoe got all ranty mcrantypants about tripping over people and I had to be the good cop with regards to shooing people out of the back room. The words "I AM TOTALLY CALM" even passed my lips. To be fair, I was, I just get bouncy really easily, and it extends to my voice in a very theatrical manner. Note to RL people: if I'm not crying, I'm not panicking. But back to the studio: TICKETS ARE NOW ON SALE FOR RUNNING UP A DRESS OUTSIDE THE CANTEEN!! And when I say "on sale" I mean "Poppy printed out these funky tickets but you don't actually have to pay for them, just drop your change in the box on the night", which is something of a mouthful and doesn't look so good in caps.

3. (I bet you thought there wasn't a three). Guys, announcement. I am made of Awesome! (Like tasty cheese). You know what I went and did? I managed to get six out of ten for that drama essay that was about a third of the required length because I completely forgot about it until the morning of the exam. Hee! This is what happens when I don't panic and do sensible things like handing in a summary of the essay instead of the first page in full. And don't forget to include a bibliography. Remember kids, always reference. You seriously do get a point for bibliography! 6/10 is the same as my worst English mark! Speaking of English, I came 5th in the grade for one of the exam segments. 14/15. The others were 13/15, 18/20, 6/10 and 8.5/10. Yeah, English is very segmented. Oh, and my Drama performance mark was 17/20. Of course they leave the best news for last! Until I got my drama and english marks I was all set to ansgt.

One final thing! I might have linked this guy before, but I'm linking him again, because he's cool. His science fiction stories are generally in the Watson style - that is, main character's best friend is the POV character - and he does it really well. Plus, they're just interesting. Here's a short example.

The rain remains incessant. I mean that's technically a lie because it has ceased on occasion. But the wet spell continues, which is lovely, but cold. I should... sleep and stuff.

ah drama. Its now got to the stage where I want it to be over, but I know when it is I'll wish it wasn't. (I don't think that made sense :P)

Argh! those dresses! I think pixies invaded the drama store room and shrunk everything to their size. Or perhaps those "little people" notes everywhere actually mean something. O.o

HAVEN'T YOU SEEN THEM??? I've seen them in maths rooms and music rooms. There little pieces of paper glued to desks that say "a message from the little people" O.o
