Working the day before christmas
Dec. 25th, 2004 12:25 pmIt's lucky the library was closed and I got to eastgardens early yesterday, cos it turned out I was working from 2:30 till 7, not from 4. Which I hadn't realised, so I got there just on time rateher than an hour or two early. Four and a half goddamn hours of standing up with about five seconds of stolen chair time in between. Feet=Pain. This job is a bitch on the ankles.
Toly turned up halfway through my shift. It's amazing how glad you can be to see a friendly face after just a few hours of running around like a headless chicken in a room full of other headless chickens carrying hot bread and yelling at you for using plastic bags instead of paper. The other chickens in this case including several people I didn't know and a bunch of sweaty cooks who i'd also never seen before since they've normally left by the time I get there.
And we got given chocolates for christmas, which is nice, although I don't like chocolate.
Now I've got a vodafone sim card. Cos, remember when i accidentally got vodafone prepaid instead of AAPT? Well, they wouldn't exchange it, and a sim is like 2 bucks, so hell, why not. To prevent confusion I will still be recieving calls on my old mobile, but if I have to call someone I'll switch them, cos i'm out of credit on my old one. And when I finish the credit, I'll just put the sim in a safe place and forget about it. So don't change my number on your mobiles or anything, peeps.
