OMG. FINISHED THE FLIST.

So the ever-cute your_rocket made a community: dayruiner. I felt compelled to pimp it to commemorate the fact that I HAVE NOW CAUGHT UP WITH MY FLIST. Yes, folks, it took me ALL DAY. INCLUDING LAST NIGHT.

Anyone think it's time for a flist cut? I think I ought to get rid of people who are neither RL nor exceedingly amusing. I mean, anyone I don't friend can still read my journal (duh, friends only is for silly people who write personal details and/or get flamed a lot), and feel free to comment with a link to any journal entry of yours that is relevant to me, or just plain entertaining. But MAN my friends page is crowded.

I shall now begin typing up my HUUUUUGE dubbo!stories. I took photos, but most of them are on my phone, which like a silly typical Maggie I left in Stan's car. _{and even if I hadn't I don't know how to transfer them onto my computer}

So photos will come later, in a separate post. Hey, that might make my dubbo story posts just that leeetle bit less HUUUUGE. Cos, yeah, they're gonna be HUUUUGE.

...and now my mum comes in and tells me to go to bed. Oh for the love of kitten!squee, it's only twenty to ten. IT'S THE HOLIDAYS. RAAH. Well, I'll see how much I can get done before I'm booted. Expect stories tomorrow, in all probability.

The police can't, not in Oz at least.

LJ is in the US, and outside Australian jurisdiction.
Not only that, but it would require a court order, not just the police.
Even then, they have to have concrete reason to unlock the journal - they can't just issue a blanket order. It can only be done on specific people in relation to a criminal investigation. No unreasonable search or seizure and all that.
Finally, doing so violates your international human right to privacy.

They can bluster all they want, but unless they have concrete proof and reason to, they can't do shit.

Nor do I badmouth people, post photos people smoking in school uniform, or in fact give a toss what the school thinks of/threatens to do to me. So, I figure I'm safe!

Make a friends filter called "Default View" (exactly like that)

Put who you want on it. Whenever you view http://maggiebloome.livejournal.com/friends/ you'll only see that filter (automatically). Easy way to cut back without actually cutting the flist.

If desired, you can make another filter called "Everyone Else". If you get bored and your normal flist isn't updating, you can view that filter instead and see stuff you're at least nominally interested in - but only when you want.

Hmm, I didn't know you could do that. But you see, I've already been leaving some things out of my filters entirely, so when I'm bored I just look at my full friends page, but when I don't have time I click individual filters. And STILL, just the filter that contains *people*, takes me over half an hour to read most days. Thus I have done a cut of said people, and will shortly do a cut of communities. I need to spend less time on LJ anyway XP
