(no subject)

April is Poetry Month, apparently. I'm too all over the place as of yet to post daily poems, but copperbadge is, so check him out for introductions to poets you haven't heard of.

As a token effort I am going to post the lyrics to my current obsession - Brand New songs tend to do that, I get obsessed with one after another, and can't stop listening to it for a few weeks. Last time it was Play Crack The Sky, now it's Jaws Theme Swimming. I actually really want to learn the guitar riff for this one because it's very cool, it's a very mellow-versed sort of song and kind of achey.

Okay, this haircut is definitely growing on me. (pun!)

I just spent like a whole minute in front of the bathroom mirror fluffing it up wildly and muttering "Up, up and awaaaay!" while giggling manically.

...yup.

This is awesome for my absentminded genius persona. I'm awaiting my next episode of static electricity practically with glee, here. If it wasn't for my lifelong opposition to dumping random crap in my hair I would steal my mum's gel and do a spiky anime hairstyle.

Who needs gravity anyway! Or combs!

It's been floating round

1. My username is maggiebloome because...

I go by Maggie most places and my last name is TOO LONG FOR THE INTERTUUUUUUBES. And, like, stalkers and crap. But I originally thought of using Bloome as a pen name because it phonetically sounds like the end of my surname, so. Yeah, these days I think I'll stick with my actual name for professional endeavour as it's less trouble, but the username stuck across several different websites.

3. My journal is titled "Funky Headgear" because...

I like hats. THE END. Incidentally my subtitle at the moment is "Alignment: Chaotic FUN" because good, evil and neutral are a little restrictive.

Does a Maggie blog on a livejournal if there's nobody around to read it?

5. My default userpic is a giant fiery eyeball with a teacup because...

fine. Well, the origins of the icon itself are in a drabble for the old It Hurts My Brain random pairing generator, which gave me Sauron and Shepherd Book. I wrote them having tea and discussing theology. Then I pretty much had to make an icon of Sauron drinking tea.

I use it because I think it embodies just the right amount of absurdity to fit my journal/life.
