Sooo sleepy. It's like 3 am, WTF?

I celebrated the Great Day Of Le Patriotism by completely failing to wave any leetle Aussie flags whatsoever. In fact I slept in till eleven and still managed to stagger down to breakfast before my parents got round to leaving for their barbecue thing. My family wins at late.

I also went to that Come As A Song Title party at Rachel's house - her parents were unexpectedly home, so there was officially nothing but beer and unofficially some random bacardi. God I hate beer. And fizzy drinks. Anyway, my Fashion Zombies outfit went down well, I'll try and get a photo off Poppy at some point, cos I was totally rocking it. That is, I could also have gone as Every My Chemical Romance Song Ever. Speaking of Poppy, most obscure costume ever - huge sunnies and a beanie and an airline-related jacket = Landed by Ben Folds. Zoe was Like a Rolling Stone with a baggy shirt, boots and a hippy scarf. She should have had a coconut... other amusing costumes included Harriet's tutu (I don't even remember what the song was) and Catch My Disease, which I call the VD song but you can't suit everyone, and was represented by numerous round stickers which were very catchy - I think there's still one on me somewhere.

Highlights include the discovery that Julia shares my love of Badly Drawn Boy, which makes everyone go "buh...?" usually, failing miserably at ping pong (in the sense of having to retrieve the ball from a bush of DETH every few seconds), and a conversation with Harriet and Madeline about bondage, the relative merits of, during which we paused for breath to discover a deathly silence hanging over the yard...

Being located in Petersham, there were the usual transport issues - I got there more or less unscathed, apart from a close encounter of the arachnid kind and accidentally knocking on the door of thee wrong house, which was answered by a grumpy old man with a "who the hell are you?" On the way back, though -hoo, boy. I found a late-night-public-transport-not-getting-raped buddy in Sarah, and we were dropped off at a convenient bus stop by Madeline's ride home. There we... waited. and waited. And made friends with a bald dude studying aviation, who has a friend my age with a similar level of zombie!squee. And waited some more. And considered flagging down a taxi, but they were all full. And made friends with another couple of randoms from Germany, one completing a diving course and another doing the backpacking thing. These last two ended up catching a cab to Maroubra with us, while the aspiring pilot took a chance on walking to Kensington.

Also I'm grounded for forgetting to call my dad before midnight. :( woops. Now is collapsy time.
