The Thai are Revolitng!
Sep. 20th, 2006 03:17 pmI switched on the Russian news the morning and had a good giggle. Apparantly there are tanks on the streets of Bangkok, but the only footage that's coming out of there is the official Thai telebroadcast, which basically consists of endless fields of green crops, parades and guys in military uniforms saluting each other a lot, to the tune of some random Thai patriotic song.
The Russian newsreader guy was like "...well. Um, this is what's on Thai national television. We're not really sure what's going on... but evidence suggests that neither does Thailand's prime minister, who's at some conference... and uh... yeah... okay. I'm kind of reminded of the endless reruns of Swan Lake that constituted the whole of Russian television for a few weeks after the collapse of the Soviet Union..."
It's a coup!
In other news, Tatu had a concert in Korea. The sight of hundreds of teenage Korean girls jumping up and down waving black and yellow striped glowstickythings and singing in Russian is... quite hilarious.
