Drama, Music and a Different Kind of drama
Jun. 7th, 2005 01:39 pmSeven-ten Director Projects auditions are done. They were really disorganised this year, when I was in year seven we went around to all the groups and read bits of their plays out loud so they could see what we'd be good at, not just play impro games a whole lunch, get told what the plays were and have to write them down. Bah.
Anyway, Diana's and my play got commended (top ten) for Page to Stage even though the teachers vetoed it for DP as too emotional ^_^ and Chloe's actually got selected. Pleasant surprise.
Yesterday at guitar we learned House of the Rising Sun. It's really awesome, it's slow with picking :D everyone else hates it of course. I forgot to print out the GP tabs for Road Trippin and Otherside, but I played Carla a bit of RT and she recognised it, so at least I know they're accurate. I'll bring them in next time. I got there much earlier than normal and escaped the OMGNOISE of the beginners class to play pool by myself downstairs. Damo was engrossed in some kind of car racing video game. Then we played fooseball, at which I pwned. FINALLY time to go upstairs, where we got jellybeans cos we're speshal :P and the other three kids rocked up kind of late.
Afterwards I went home and got bitched at by my msn, which is a bitch. Then my mum called me downstairs to help write the assignment for her class tomorrow. I ended up doing most of it. It was excruciating. In fact, it was so much so that I was able to call on it in Drama today when we were asked to look angry/irritated.
We're learning about the Stanislavski method. I've heard of him before from going to a workshop about Chekhov, and I've basically been doing the same thing since I started doing drama, so it's not exactly new, but it's cool anyway, because Stanislavski is very good. Then we acted out bits from Property of the Clan, where I did a rather good job as a whiny obnoxious brat. Yay.
In multi we practiced shooting things.
I want egg salad.
