As Alex Leaves
Apr. 11th, 2005 08:56 pmSunday was very fun. I got out of bed around ten thirty to the familiar sounds of a family argument. I sleepwalked through most of it, waking up about halfway through breakfast, after which I went to eastgardens to meet Avi for lunch. My timing is slightly off XP I ended up eating t3h yoghurt. Yoghurt is good. Failed to get sidetracked at pet store. I looked at some dodgy 200 dollar hair straightenrs. I hadn't realised they were that expensive :( Sam, when you get back you must come with me and help me buy a good one! I also went into a makeup store and the sales lady poked me in the nose with concealer. It seems useful... but not THAT useful that I'd bother to spend 15 bucks on it. I did have a twenty but half of that was for alcohol contribution at Liza's.
Then Avi went off to bondi Junction and I went to work, where I got reprimanded for wearing blue socks. We have these new things. The signs on the front say "This is where we stick our Sticky Cinnamon Scrolls". O_o to be fair, they are very, ve4ry sticky. TO THE EXTREME. I guess they couldn't resist the pun... except maybe they didn't know about the OTHER pun...
After work i collected a bunch of scones n stuff and went off to Liza's. Since i've never caught a 392 there before, I got a bit eeeitsdarkwherethefuckami and annoyed the bus driver a little. Fortunately however I recognised things and got off at the right stop. I walked in wearing my work uniform with an "I come bearing bread! Now take me to your shower!" A small group of pterodactyl-like creatures in Lurex descended on my cherished bag of scones, squawking, "A new pleasure, a new pleasure" but the resemblance to Life, the Universe and Everything ended there.
I used Liza's shower and changed into something that wasn't burgundy and covered in breadcrumbs, although there wasn't much i could do about my hair. By the time i got downstairs most of the bread had been eaten. I deduced that the pizza hadn't arrived yet. There was quite a high concentration of randoms this time - most of them Asian guys from SBHS, or as either Stan or Avi put it, "Amanda and her host of boyfriends." Hmm. I'm not sure WHAT was on with that - Amanda spent most of the night making out with Han despite the fact that she was going out with Ritchie, who also there... and IN THE ROOM half the time... meh. I don't know these people's backstory, so i can't really comment.
Speaking of which, some really funny stuff happened - I was sitting in Liza's computer room with Avi, and everyone else had left the room. Then someone opened the door, went "Oh." and closed it again. We were like "Heh." But then... IT HAPPENED AGAIN. I counted no less than fourteen throughout the night. Except for Liza, who ran in screaming, kicked off her shoes, and then on the way out looked at us, went "Oh." switched off the light and then closed the door. It was hilarious, especially since most of the time absolutely nothing private was happening and we would've been perfectly happy for them to come in, sit down and talk to us.
As usual Sasha collected the money for the alcohol, which turned out to be several bottles of vodka and a bunch of lolly drinks, which were blue. I drank about half of one and then poured in some Midori, which was green, and turned it a pretty aquamarine colour. Oh and it tasted better too. After that and a minimal amount of vodka in my orange juice/lift, we ran out of alcohol. Mostly thanks to Mic and Sasha who must've accounted for at least two and a half bottles of vodka between them. All that was left was a bunch of red bacardi thingies which tasted terrible. I started acting kind of random about the time the alcohol wore OFF, which was weird... withdrawal? XP Or possibly an attempt to drown out the lack of alcohol with my everyday regular hyperness. That paragraph had the word alcohol in it too many times.
Toly and Mic got a game of Durak going, and later we played Big two... mainly I owned this guy called Tim with long black hair and got owned by everyone else XP The pizza soon arrived - Cheese was immediately intercepted and taken upstairs, which sucked for Avi since it was the only one without meat. A couple of the random Asian guys were playing Liza's piano - very very well. Em and I did karaoke on Liza's mike - not very very well. Sasha got horribly, horribly wasted. Avi pwned me at DDR, which is unsurprising as I hate it with a passion and am somewhat unco to boot. The pingpong table didn't break like last time. Most people had left by around twelvish.
Val fell asleep on the couch, and Avi called a cab which his parents were conveniently paying for at around one. It took a while to get there though. He and I and Stan spent some time sitting on Liza's fence looking at teh pretty cloude, which are extraordinarily pretty against a night sky. When the taxi arrived quite late due to something to do with outsourcing, our driver had an accent thast I thought was Russian but turned out to be Bulgarian. Or was that Rumanian? Damn. Anyway, he was friendly, although he took a few wrong turns on the way to my house. They dropped me off on the way to Avi's.
Monday morning, woke up late and made french toast, had an argument with my mum, did some cleaning, fell asleep on the couch for a couple of hours. My computer is really screwed up - you just have to tap it and the video card or something goes out of whack and the color res does weird shit. I have yet to obtain a soundcard. On the bright side Laivi says I'm getting my Sims back soonish.
Tuesday morning, Alex's going away get-together style thingy. I wrote her a plane letter on the bus, on a blank greeting card with a black pen, both of which i had just bought at the newsagency. I'm so jealous she gets to go to Ukraine for a week! Whereas I get five days in Port Macquarie. Although that might not be so bad now that I've persuaded Nicky to come with. Anyway, I got completely lost on the way to Alex's and in a bizarre incident involving a music player, a 353 bus and a street sign ended up on like, Clovelly road or something. I called Alex multiple times and got told to catch a 339. In the direction AWAY from the city. That's UP the hill. You're on the top of the hill? ARGH just NOT TOWARDS THE SEA ALRIGHT! Thankfully I had already transferred the Sic Transit Gloria vidclip onto my mp4player so the tenminute wait for the bus was tolerable, despite the fact I could've walked in that time.
I got there by ten thirty, just in time to see trent's slide show of a python swallowing a kangaroo and to get told that the snake which was now investigating my finger was the same type, only smaller. I didn't even know Trent had a snake. But MAN is that little reptile cool! It constricts your wrist!!! Squee!! As we went to the park and stan and Jess and Laivi and people showed up, I put the snake round my neck. It promptly did it's best to get down my top. Also Liza's sleeve and Alex's jeans. Sleazy, sleazy snake. I seem to be really attracting animals today, avi's dog was unusually persistent in its attempts to slobber on my lap. I was wearing that ONE short skirt I have, because it was too hot for jeans. Stupid, STUPID Maggie. I had to try to avoid, IN A PARK, 1. swings, 2. grass, and 3. wind. And then later, A DOG MAULING ME AND LICKING MY KNEES. ARGH.
After Alex left to catch her plane, Avi, Stan, Jess and I took a bus to Randwick junction. Avi kept bugging us to go to Teascapes, but jess was vehemently against it on the basis that last time she was there with he Habo people they got chased with knives. O_o anyway. Stan got Subway, and then as we walked past KFC, lo and behold everyone else showed up. So we hung around there for a bit, Avi having gotten noodles elsewhere, and admired Trent's snake, which seemed very loyal to Sasha's wrist. After a while it got transferred to Laivi's shirt, which it matched perfectly in colour - I'm serious it looked like he just had a snake print on his collar. Well, you know, except for when it occasionally moved.
Stan and Laivi got their green tea from the asian supermarket and everyone except stan and Avi went off to the city to play video games or something. Avi and I saw Stan to his bus stop and then went and watched Robots. It was funny, and according to avi had many Star Wars references. I just liked the line "Oh my GOD, I'm as CRAZY AS MY MOTHER!!!" I also saw a sign which said that the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy movie is coming out April 28. We are going to organise everyone to go watch it the saturday after, or possibly the one after that, cos avi's dad might go OMG WHY ARENT YOU STUDYING FOR YOUR EXAMS.
Wow. This was such a long entry. I mean I always have longwinded entries, but WHOAH.
