bliumchikI got that Ellen Degeneres book out of the library today. I don't really find it all that funny, it was actually sort of lame in the way that your parents and random people on the internet can be lame - it's funny, but only cos you know them. Her style is just too familiar - you know, when your friend starts clucking like a chicken and pecking people, it's funny, but when a random woman with a funny name who's on the telly does it, it's just like... yeah okay. I suppose her fans would find it funny, because we often feel like we know the objects of our squee. Glasshouse had chicken moments, especially Dave Hughes, but we loved it.
It's funny how now that Glasshouse has been canceled, I'm seeing bits of it everywhere - whether it's in my Modern History teacher talking about movers and shakers or the ridiculously long names for some of our merit awards. The assemblies themselves are ridiculously long too. We just had one for year ten, and now we're having two more for the rest of the school. WE DON'T NEED QUITE THAT MANY SHINY PIECES OF PAPER THANKYOUVERYMUCH. I mean, not that we're, you know, going or anything. I have better things to do than sit tin an uncomfortable chair and clap every five minutes. Like those unfinished fic assignments!! Nearly done, though. Do I have a beta for the Firefly/Sandman crossover? GO will be fine. You only need to read it and tell me where it's awkward... *wheedles*
