bliumchikOkay, so. Remember that gym I went to for the trying out of the pilates?
Well, my mum convinced me to sign up, so, off I went to be shown around the equipment by a trainer person. I say hi. She takes one look at me and goes "Okay, you know you're not here to lose weight, right? Right?!" This suggests to me that many people go to the gym because they are anorexic. I reassured her that the whole needing two mats for pilates so my hip doesn't stick painfully into the floor thing has in fact indicated to me that I certainly don't want any LESS padding. In any case, I'm apparantly supposed to be GAINING weight - which makes sense when I think about it, since muscle is heavier than fat, and it's not exactly a 1:1 conversion process. Still, it amuses me muchly.
Of course it soon became obvious that I was there for the muscles and not the de-fatting when I couldn't lift ANY weights on the first machine. She eventually took out the pin entirely and said "That's okay, this machine is heavier than most, you can start with no weights." The damn thing really is a HUUUGE mother of a garbage truck. Also the stepper makes my messing-with-things reflex itch to see if I can do stairs backwards.

WTF America? DAMMIT. My US randoms, keep an eye out for things like this in other fields. Police? Hospitals? Schools? There is no way they do something like that and it's just targeted at Christians. It's too systematic. (Also, I love the phrase "I think I've become a rebel priest.") I mean, it's an obviously biased report, but even if you look at it from the other point of view some of that stuff is simply unacceptable.
